Medical Engineering Distinguished Seminar Series, Valeria Caprettini
Abstract still to come.
Valeria obtained her PhD in Bioengineering and Robotics in 2017 from Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in Genoa, Italy, where she conceived and devised a microfluidic device for the spatiotemporally controlled poration of cells for the delivery of drugs, for extracellular and intracellular electrical recordings, and for spectroscopic analyses. She continued her academic path at King's College London where she developed nanotechnology for tissue engineering combining nanofabrication technologies with physics and material science. Valeria joined Nature Biomedical Engineering in August 2022 and her expertise includes neuroengineering, tissue and disease modelling using microphysiological systems, stem cells and organoids technologies, wearable and implantable devices, medical devices.
