Alex Mori Carroll, has been chosen to receive the 2026 Richard Bruce Chapman Memorial Award. The Richard B. Chapman Memorial Award is given to an EAS graduate student in hydrodynamics who has distinguished themself in research. Alex completed his graduate studies working with Guillaume Blanquart, Professor of Mechanical Engineering. His doctoral research focused on non-Boltzmann thermochemical modeling for hydrogen-helium entry flows. This work is important for the design of future ice and gas giant probe missions, which have been identified as top priorities for the planetary science community.
