Solid Mechanics. The Division of Engineering and Applied Science at the California Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Solid Mechanics. Strong preference will be given to applicants who are experimentalists with demonstrated excellence in research and the potential for high-quality teaching and mentoring. Research areas of particular interest include but are not restricted to biomechanics, micro/nano mechanics, space materials and structures.

The initial appointment at the assistant-professor level is for four years and is contingent upon the completion of Ph.D. Exceptionally well-qualified applicants may also be considered at the associate or full professor level. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
